Sith Warrior Announced

While the videos from the developer walkthrough recently showed gameplay of the Sith Warrior openly, they are only just now officially announcing it over on the Star Wars: The Old Republic website.
It's obvious that the idea behind the Sith Warrior is brute destruction as they have the ability to both take a beating and deal huge damage as well.
From what one can tell from the vague class profile as a Sith Warrior you will be able to wear heavy armors as well as make use of all types of light sabers, from singles to dual wielding to dual edged sabers courtesy of Darth Maul.
While nothing new has been released as far as how party make-ups will look (tanks/healers/DPS) you can assume that the Sith will be at the forefront of the group and possibly based on skill tree selection a tank or DPS class.
What this also tells us is that you can definitely assume there will be a Jedi class released in the near future for the Galactic Republic side that will be the equivalent to some extent.
Go take a look at the official site (as linked in the first paragraph) and check out the brief videos that recap some of the moves and abilities revealed for the Sith Warrior class in the developer video.
I guess we can say that Bioware is great at keeping things tight lipped. Too bad they are keeping basic things from everyone while instead choosing to release more shallow information to the public.
We'll take what we can get here at GDNK.
